DESCRIPTION:Full-time homeschool students in the Tulsa Metro area are invited to participate in a cotillion program\, offered by Tulsa Cotillion\, during the 2024 spring semester. \nCountry Cotillion is a class for boys and girls in the 7th through 12th grades\, offering instruction in etiquette\, table manners\, and Country-Western dancing. Tulsa Cotillion’s program consists of five 90-minute class sessions\, plus a final BBQ dinner\, dance\, and party (lasting about 4 hours). \nIn lieu of formal ballroom dances\, Country Cotillion will include instruction in Country-Western dancing\, including: the Two-Step\, the Country Shuffle\, the Country Waltz and Triple-time Swing\, along with 4-5 popular line dances. Students are encouraged to wear jeans and cowboy boots during class sessions. (Completion of the formal cotillion class is NOT a prerequisite to participate in County Cotillion.) \nThe final dinner will be held at Five Oaks Lodge (Jenks\, OK) and include dancing and a BBQ buffet in place of the formal 5-course\, sit-down dinner. Students learn how to serve themselves and pass through buffet lines appropriately. The 14th Annual Arvest Winterfest presented with CommunityCare will kick off another season of holiday fun later this month. Named by People Magazine as the top holiday destination in Oklahoma\, Arvest Winterfest presented with CommunityCare will be open from Friday\, November 19 through Monday\, January 3. \nThis year\, ice skating is back outside BOK Center on Third Street. Over the last 14 years\, attendance for this event has soared from 35\,000 visitors in 2008 to more than 150\,000. This year the annual holiday celebration will be open for 47 days\, giving as many Tulsans as possible a chance to enjoy skating outside BOK Center beneath the beautiful\, gleaming holiday lights. \nEnjoy 9\,000 square feet of beautifully-maintained ice as you skate. Skate sizes include: Toddler size 8 up through adult size 15 (subject to availability). Six skating guides are free to use (first come\, first serve). Non-skaters enter Winterfest free! Locker rentals available onsite. \n$6 per skater\nTICKET HANDLING: Physical\, non-refundable passes will be issued for this event.
