The Canteen is open from 2-4 pm to purchase snacks for some afternoon energy. \nPlay Together\n\nFamily fun at its best. We have so many outdoor and indoor activities to keep your family or group going throughout the weekend. Check out the full list of activities below. \nMeet Together\n\nDo you have a homeschool group that needs some time to refresh? Maybe you want to plan a seminar or get-together but don’t want to plan all the activities. HSOK has reserved Frontier Cove with plenty of meeting space and group camp bunkhouses for your group. Group leaders\, fill out this Group Leader Form to let us know you’re coming and if you need to reserve meeting space. \nBe Together\n\nFamily time is so important. One of the beautiful things about homeschooling is our ability to take off and have some fun. So come to have a great time. DESCRIPTION:The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City has planned an exciting day of learning and exploring in the new outdoor playscape\, Liichokoshkomo’. Come see this new Outdoor Education Experience\, an interactive\, multi-cultural space that introduces the American West through science\, technology\, engineering\, arts\, math\, and citizenship in an immersive hands-on\, minds-on environment. \nLiichokoshkomo’ (the Chickasaw phrase for “Let’s play!”) shares all aspects of our diverse Western heritage. This cultural meeting place will encourage children and families to explore a Western heritage by examining differing viewpoints and historical perspective. The Museum hopes to impart an understanding of how to learn from the past; setting children on a path of constructive reflection\, discovery\, and life-long learning.

DESCRIPTION:Registered Homeschool Oklahoma families enjoy FREE museum admission all day!  \nRegister here. \nThe National Cowboy Museum in Oklahoma City has planned an exciting day of learning and exploring the new exhibition:\nCaballeros y Vaqueros – Origin of Wester Horse Cultures and Colors of Clay. \nIn Caballeros y Vaqueros learn how the iconic Western cowboy can trace its roots to north and west Africa\, up through Spain and then over to the New World from a fusion of Native American\, European\, African and Islamic traditions. \nStudents can: \n\nLearn rawhide and horse hair braiding\nDiscover the Spanish Americas through gaucho stirrups\, vaquero saddles\, and vistadoras hats\nTry our photo station\nCreate decorative designs to take home\n\nColor of Clay explores the cultural and regional diversity of indigenous ceramic vessel traditions in North America.  Vibrantly colored and sculpted with absolute precision\, clay pots\, bowls\, pitchers\, and jars were a dominate fixture of Native American daily life and are today viewed as one of the most notable Native American art forms. \nStudents can: \n\nDraw a pottery design or sketch a favorite from the exhibition\nCreate a pinch pot\nPiece together a pottery puzzle\n\nActivities available while supplies last.  Brown Bag lunches are encouraged!  Lunch space available on a first come first serve basis. \nJoin the Western Movie Matinee at 1:00 p.m. for Doris Day’s Calamity Jane!\nCalamity Jane combines comedy and music with the historic character of Calamity Jane.  Acted with lively endergy by Doris Day\, this Western turns ito a romance when she married the famous Wild Bill Hickok\, played by Howard Keel.  101 minutes.
